OMG! Why is my laptop doing this?

Ok so I got the key back on for anyone that saw my last question! :P But now!! I have a new problem!! The other day I pick my laptop off the floor where it sleeps everyday. And I noticed a weird sound like there was a pebble rolling around inside of it! I know this was dumb but I shook it some more and the sound went away. Then I just heard it! And so I shook it around a bit. Then I say smoke? Coming from the side! I smelt it but it didnt have a smell. I have never Split anything on it! Except that sprinkle from my pop tart a few hours ago! :P And thats how I popped the key off! :D But that problem is taken care of. Can anyone tell me why my laptop would be doing that? It doenst happen when I pick it up Straight. Also is it bad to carry it side ways? Please help this is my baby! And Ill die if i wreck it!!
